Coheed & Cambria have had quite a stellar year so far, with the release of their latest album and novel, Year of the Black Rainbow.
Year of the Black Rainbow has evolved as the prequel to the band’s previous four concept albums. Singer and author Claudio Sanchez comments, ” When I created the idea of Amory Wars and the first record being The Second Stage Turbine Blade and that being the second part of the story, I always knew at the end I would revisit the beginning. I think for those fans that are truly invested in the concept, it’s really a necessity. I don’t know if it was necessary to make prequels for Star Wars, [but] this is where Coheed and Cambria came from. The origins of who they are.”
In promotion of the new release, Coheed and Cambria have been on the road and will be performing live through mid August. Keep checking back for the latest Coheed and Cambria news.

Coheed and Cambria began in 1995 as Shabutie. However, the name was changed when drummer Nate Kelley departed and has stayed the same ever since.
Coheed and Cambria are different than other bands because they produce concept albums: storyline albums that reveal a science fiction plot called “The Amory Wars.” The plot is a comic written by the lead singer Claudio Sanchez. To date, the band has released four studio albums and two live albums. They are currently working on their fifth studio album, which is rumored to be a prequel to the series.
The current band members are Claudio Sanchez, Travis Stever, Michael Todd and Chris Pennie.
